Rajah Caruth Quotes

Homestead-Miami Speedway is widely considered one of the most fun tracks from the driver’s seat. What are your thoughts?
“I love Miami and it is a really fun race track. I think I ran a better race in my rookie season in 2023 than I did last year, but finished in the same spot. We tweaked on our setup and I think I have improved as a driver and my emphasis for the race track. At the end of the day, it is just another race, but I feel really good about going back and competing near the front.

This year’s event is shifting to an evening event. How will this effect the tire wear, which is already a major factor at the facility?
“Tire wear is always a huge factor at Homestead, and now you have the added variable of the race moving to night. Trucks have been a day race since 2019, so a lot of the recent data and knowledge is pretty much thrown out the window. I believe the bottom will be better than the past few years, and there will be a lot more grip, overall. Throughout a long run, the tires degrade a lot and you start to slip and slide around. It is really fun behind the wheel, and from the fan perspective, it is really fun to watch.”

  • Veteran crew chief Kevin “Bono” Manion calls the shots for Rajah Caruth and the No. 71 team in 2025.

  • Manion, a 31-year veteran of the sport, founded Spire Motorsports’ CRAFTSMAN Truck Series program alongside Mike Greci in 2022. The team won that season in their second outing with William Byron behind the wheel at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.

Andres Perez de Lara Quotes

You are making your first career start at Homestead-Miami Speedway. What are your thoughts before heading to the track for the first time?
“I am very excited to get to Homestead-Miami zspeedway. It is an awesome track with a great atmosphere. This is another new track for me, like many so far this year. I am feeling pretty confident about the race. We’ve had good simulator sessions leading into the weekend. Homestead is an extremely technical track, but the sim has gotten me comfortable with all of the different lines and options that are available to a driver. I feel confident that all the preparation the team has put in will help deliver a good finish that we can build momentum on.”

Homestead is unique to any other 1.5-mile track you’ve raced on. How are you going to handle that throughout the weekend?
“Homestead is definitely unique to any other track. It is a style of racing I haven’t done. Tire degradation will be a huge factor throughout the race and I will have to take care of my tires unlike any track I’ve raced on. I’ve seen the track changes constantly through the film I’ve studied, so I’ll have to adapt quickly to the track throughout the day. I know my team has built a truck that will make speed wherever I need to go on the track. Spire has been successful there in the past, and I’m hoping to build on that success.”
