Spire Motorsports Team EJP 175 Race Report 2026

Spire Motorsports' NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series team will have two chances to compete for the 2026 Owners' Championship following the Team EJP 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The No. 7 and No. 77 teams will begin The Chase seeded fourth and eighth, respectively, as they begin the race for the Owners' Championship on Sept. 17 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. In Saturday's race at New Hampshire, Connor Zilisch led the team with a fifth-place finish, his third top-five in three starts with Spire this season. Tristan McKee finished sixth in his second start in the series to earn his second-straight top-10 result. Connor Mosack was on track to join his teammates in the top 10 before a late-race incident relegated the No. 7 team to a 30th-place finish.

Zilisch began Saturday’s Team EJP 175 from the fourth position in the No. 71 NationsGuard Chevrolet Silverado RST and quickly charged to the lead on Lap 35. When the green-and-white checkered flag was waved on Lap 110, Zilisch was credited with a pair of stage wins, but a pair of slower pit stops shuffled him back in the field during the Final Stage forcing the 20-year-old driver to work his way through the field throughout a series of cautions to start the last stint of the race. He was running fifth when he made contact with the outside wall with just 30 laps remaining, causing damage that resulted in a loss of position. Despite the setback, Zilisch rallied back to seventh for Overtime and made a last-lap charge to cross the finish line in fifth. McKee qualified sixth in the No. 77 Delaware Life Chevrolet Silverado RST for his second-career CRAFTSMAN Truck Series start, maintaining his position inside the top 10 throughout the first stage. At the stage break, the 16-year-old driver made his way to pit road where he locked up the left front and made slight contact with the pit wall. He restarted 26th and worked his way back to the 18th position before making a stop for rightside tires at the Stage 2 break. McKee began the Final Stage in fourth and battled inside the top five before a yellow flag was shown for incident Lap 171. Following two Overtime attempts, the Williamsburg, Va., native ultimately crossed the line in sixth to earn his second top-10 finish in as many starts. Mosack started 11th in the No. 7 Friends of Jaclyn Chevrolet Silverado RST and worked his way forward throughout the opening two stages, finishing 12th and ninth, respectively, in Saturday’s Team EJP 175. After gaining position on pit road at the stage break, the 27-year-old started the Final Stage in sixth and battled inside the top 10 in the closing laps. He was running ninth when a caution on Lap 171 setup Overtime and was collected by a spinning competitor on the ensuing restart, ultimately resulting in a 30th-place finish.

The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Chase begins Thursday, Sept. 17 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The UNOH 250 presented by Ohio Logistics will be televised live on FS1 at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The 18th of 25 races on the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series calendar, and first of seven Chase races, will also be broadcast live on the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.

“Well, it was going to be a decent day for us. I thought we had a shot at a top five there for a little bit at the end. We made gains from the start of practice all the way through the race. I learned a few things during the race and had a couple of restarts where we fired off good. On the second to last restart, we just struggled for whatever reason, still need to look into that. But on the last restart, I just wanted to avoid our crash and got ran over from behind and ended our day there. So just a pretty frustrating finish but thanks to everyone at Spire for bringing a fast truck and putting us in a good position for what should have been a decent finish.”

Unfortunately, I feel like our truck was was really good in the first two stages, and after we got that damage, we just weren't quite as good but I had a lot of fun. "We had a really, really fast Delaware Life Chevy, I just made a mistake on pit road and we had to start further back in Stage 2. I made up a little bit of ground and then the last stop, Chad (Walter, crew chief) made a really good call for two tires and got us up to fourth. We were able to run around fourth, fifth, sixth the whole last stage, but I struggled a bit on two tires and couldn't get by the No. 52. I think if I could have gotten by him, we would have been able to make up some more ground, and probably not have lost position to some of these other guys before the last few cautions. gotten fast by some of these guys. Definitely could have been a little bit better there on a couple of those restarts, but it'll come with more time in the truck and just getting used to how these guys race. Overall, it was a good day, I think I could have just capitalized a little bit more and not made that mistake in the first stage."
