Justin Haley Defends RC Chili Bowl Title

Justin Haley fights to defend his title in RC dirt racing in this year’s RC Chili Bowl

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 8, 2025) – While the NASCAR Cup Series is on break, Justin Haley will stay busy around the world of dirt racing. The Winamac, Ind., native’s offseason plans will kick off in Tulsa, Okla., at the RC Chili Bowl. The weeklong event features scaled, remote-controlled versions of some of dirt racing’s most badass machines and operates in conjunction with the prestigious Chili Bowl Nationals presented by NOS Energy Drink.

In 2023, Haley took the crown in the street stock division, besting a field of 64 competitors. In the B-modified division, the 25-year-old made the feature and finished seventh. His pursuit of a second RC Chili Bowl title begins on Monday, January 13th and will conclude with the feature events on Saturday, January 18th. He will be competing in the RC late model, midget, and outlaw sprint divisions before returning to Charlotte to continue preparation for the NASCAR Cup Series season.

Rodney Childers, a 40-time NASCAR Cup Series race winning crew chief and one of the sport’s most respected tacticians, will lead Spire Motorsports No. 7 team in 2025. Childers, 48, led Kevin Harvick to the 2014 NCS championship and is the winningest active crew chief in NASCAR’s premier division. The Mooresville native called 37 wins from 2014 – 2023. Prior to the over three dozen victories with Harvick, Childers is credited with leading drivers David Reutimann and Brian Vickers to Victory Lane.

The NASCAR Cup Series will kick off the 2025 season with the 67th running of the Daytona. The season opener will be televised live on FOX, Sunday February 16 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The first of 36 races on the 2024 NCS schedule will be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
