Spire Motorsports Race to Stop Suicide 200 Race Report 2026

In Saturday's Race to Stop Suicide 200 at Kansas Speedway, Spire Motorsports' NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series No. 7 and 77 teams with Brennan Poole and Nick Sanchez finished 17th and 28th, respectively. The No. 77 team is sixth in The Chase owner standings while the No. 7 team sits eighth.

Poole started 19th in the No. 7 Delaware Life Chevrolet Silverado RST after qualifying was canceled due to weather and the lineup was set per the NASCAR rulebook. He battled a loose-handling Chevrolet early on but made progress with adjustments throughout the opening stages, gaining seven positions on a Stage 2 pit stop to restart ninth for the Final Stage. After a lengthy rain delay, Poole worked his way as high as 11th before a pit road speeding penalty dropped him to 25th. On the restart, Poole sustained right-side damage that required immediate attention. After the team worked to clear the right-front fender damage, Poole restarted 24th for the final eight laps, ultimately finishing 17th. Sanchez, driver of the No. 77 Freeway Insurance Silverado, started from the pole for Saturday’s event and earned the team 14 points with a pair of fourths in the opening stages before experiencing a variety of issues in the Final Stage. Sanchez overcame an unscheduled stop to repair the spoiler just before a long rain delay and then a slow stop after the delay to put himself in position for a top-five finish with under six laps remaining. Contact with the wall, which led to a flat right-front tire, forced him to limp slowly to his pit stall in the closing laps while the race remained green.

The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Chase returns in two weeks on Friday, Oct. 9 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway. The Ecosave 200 will be televised live on FOX at 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The 20th of 25 races on the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series calendar, and third of seven Chase races, will also be broadcast live on the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.

“It was a tough day without practice and qualifying, but I learned a lot through the first couple of stages. Brian (Pattie) made the truck a lot better for me, and we fired off really strong for the start of Stage 3. I made a little mistake on pit road there and got us to the back of the pack, but we fought and got back up into the top 15. I thought we were going to be in a really good spot, and we got hit on that late restart causing a right front tire to go down. I felt like that kept us from having a top-10 night but I think we were in a strong position to have a really good result at the end of the night. Thank you to Jeff and everyone at Spire Motorsports for the opportunity, I hope we get to do it again soon.”

“We were solid the first two stages and then when we went back green, we had to come down pit road for an unscheduled stop, and that kind of hurt us from there. We rallied back to just outside the top five and had a tire issue at the end. It was a super unfortunate end of the race for the Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Silverado. I wish it went a little bit better. Thanks to Spire Motorsports and everyone on the No. 77 team for a fast truck and a good start to the day. Hopefully, we get to do it again and come back stronger.”
