Spire Motorsports Navy 250 Race Report 2026
By PGORDON
Connor Mosack led the way for Spire Motorsports with a 24th-place finish in Friday evening's inaugural Navy 250 on the streets of Naval Base Coronado in San Diego. Justin Marks rounded out the afternoon in the 25th position. The Nos. 7 and 77 teams now occupy the fourth and ninth positions in the CRAFSMAN Truck Series owners' championship point standings, respectively.
Mosack qualified 11th in the No. 7 Friends of Jaclyn Chevrolet Silverado RST, but was forced to pit prior to the end of Stage 1 with a right-front tire issue. He later sustained left-front damage in an incident in Turn 15, falling one lap down. The No. 7 team returned to the lead lap via the free pass, but persistent brake issues throughout the Final Stage limited the crew to the 24th position at the checkered flag.
Damage sustained in Friday morning's practice session sent Marks to a backup No. 77 Jockey 150th Anniversary Chevrolet Silverado RST. The St. Louis native started 31st, gained seven spots on the first lap of the race and finished the opening stage in 15th. Marks later hit pit road for repairs after making contact with the Turn 16 retaining wall early in Stage 2, ultimately rejoining the field two laps down in 34th. The No. 77 team was unable to return to the lead lap, but capitalized on their competitors' misfortunes to cross the finish line in 25th.
Following a three-week hiatus, the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series hits the twists and turns of Lime Rock Park in Connecticut on Saturday, July 11. The LiUNA 150 will be televised live on FS1 at 1 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The 14th of 25 races on the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series calendar will also be broadcast live on the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
“We had a pretty solid Friends of Jaclyn Chevrolet Silverado to start the day and were able to move forward early, but it just felt like one thing after another. We had the tire issue at the end of Stage 1, got some damage in Stage 2, and then spent most of the final stage trying to manage brake problems. Huge credit to this No. 7 team for never giving up and continuing to make adjustments to keep me on track. It definitely wasn’t the result we wanted, but we’ll take what we learned and get ready for Lime Rock.”
“It was fun to get back behind the wheel, but this race was about celebrating America first and foremost. I'm kind of out of practice, obviously, but it was just really fun, and it was a pleasure working with everyone at Spire Motorsports."
