Spire Motorsports Indianapolis Raceway Park NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Race Report 2026

Connor Mosack earned a career-best second place finish in Friday night’s NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Nick Sanchez earned a fifth-place finish in his return to Spire Motorsports. It was the first double top-five finish for the organization since the May 2026 race at Texas Motor Speedway, where Carson Hocevar took the victory followed by Kyle Busch in second, and third double top five of the season. The No. 7 team sits fourth in the owner championship point standings and the No. 77 in ninth with two races remaining before the start of The Chase.
Mosack secured the seventh-place starting spot on the grid in the No. 7 Friends of Jaclyn Chevrolet Silverado RST and steadily worked his way into the top five, finishing fourth in the opening stage before continuing his charge to second by the end of Stage 2. After briefly falling to third on a late restart, Mosack reclaimed the runner-up position with 55 laps remaining and held on through the closing laps to score a career-best second place finish in his 43 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series start. Sanchez qualified third in the No. 77 Delaware Life Chevrolet Silverado RST for his first CRAFTSMAN Truck Series start of the season, but lacked overall grip during the first half of the race that caused him to fall back to finishes of seventh and sixth in the first two stages, respectively. Solid pit stops, productive chassis adjustments and a strong restart in the Final Stage allowed the 25-year-old driver to advance into the top five, where he remained throughout the final 80 laps.
The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series takes a three-week break before returning to action Friday, August 14 at Richmond (Va.) Raceway. The 250-lap race will be televised live on FS1 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The 17th of 25 races on the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series calendar will also be broadcast live on the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
“Hats off to Brian (Pattie, crew chief) and our guys for bringing a really fast Chevy. I feel like we had the best truck in the long run, we just struggled a little bit to fire off in Turns 3 and 4. Anything could happen on a restart, but I feel like the No. 34 was a good bit stronger for the first 10-15 laps, and then we kind of came on strong. Overall, we just need to fire off a little bit better, but otherwise, it was a great day for us.”

It was a solid day of practice, a decent race and I learned a lot. The pit crew was solid all night and Chad (Walter, crew chief) did a good job improving the handling of our truck with each stop. We were gaining on third and fourth there a little bit at the end and then we kind of fell off a little bit. All things considered, I think bringing home a top-five finish was a decent day. Definitely hope that I can come back and do it again.”
