JOB SUMMARY:

Fabricator is responsible for complex types of weld preparation and welding operations of custom metal fabrications. Utilizes fabrication skills to work on components and equipment. The Fabricator is responsible for interpreting blueprints and drawings, setting up welding equipment, and fabricating high-quality products that meet our teams’ specifications.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to perform welding processes such as MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW).
  • Ability to weld components in flat, overhead, or vertical positions.
  • Must be able to operate hand tools and equipment such as Grinders, Drills, Saws, etc.
  • Read blueprints and drawings to identify welding measurements and position.
  • Read detailed schematics for complex machines
  • Use hand tools and power tools to trim, cut and fit components into the final product.
  • Weld and solder pieces together
  • Align components and connect them with bolts and screws
  • Work with collaboratively to produce and assemble components
  • Find faulty components in defective products to fix them
  • Verifying dimensions and product specifications.
  • Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present.
  • Marking cutting lines on material.
  • Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in.
  • Ensuring that quality control standards are met.
  • Maintaining a production schedule.
  • Testing products for their functionality.
  • Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or recalls.
  • Reporting and detailing product malfunctions.
  • Adhering to assembly safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of all basic tools and equipment including band saw, drill press, sand blaster, rotex punch, cold saw, acetylene torch, and hydraulic punch

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 2 years fabrication experience in a motorsports environment
  • Basic computer skills required to perform and record Romer arm measurements
  • AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel certification is preferred. AWS D1.3 Structural Welding Code – Sheet Steel certification is preferred
  • Exceptional MIG and TIG welding skills

 

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending stooping
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times
  • · Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilitie
